Pat Stuckemeyer is one of the youngest euphonium
performers in the world today. At the age of 26, he has already forged
many new paths for the euphonium. His diverse performance career has taken
him to a dozen countries and three continents.
Patrick Sheridan has been enthusiastically received as a solo
artist around the world. He made his solo debut playing an arrangement of The
Blue Bells of Scotland accompanied by his mom, Diana, when he was just 10 years
old, only months after he had started playing his chosen instrument, the tuba!
He made his solo orchestral debut at the age of 15 playing a Mozart Horn
Concerto. Since then, Patrick has rocketed to success as a solo performer in
venues ranging from the White House to an NBA half-time show.
A native of Evansville, Indiana, Stuckemeyer began his study with K. Kim Fillimgim. He did his formal training with Dr. Thomas Zugger and Dr. Paul Droste at the Conservatory of Music at Capital University, where he earned degrees with honors in both education and performance. Stuckemeyer continued his study with Scott Watson at the University of Kansas, where he completed his Master of Music in Performance with honors. In May of 2007, Pat completed his yearlong study at the Royal Northern College of Music in the United Kingdom, earning his Post Graduate Diploma in Euphonium with distinction. While at the RNCM, Pat had the opportunity to work closely with euphonium-legend Steven Mead and also with David Thornton. He has recently accepted an invitation into the Doctoral of Musical Arts program at Arizona State University where he will be the teaching associate to J. Samuel Pilafian and Patrick Sheridan.
An avid composer and arranger, Pat has numerous compositions that have been met with acclaim on both a local and national level. His works have been performed at both the high school and university level, as well as regional and national conventions. Recently Pat’s arrangements have appeared on Euphonium Magic 3 – Earth Voices, a multi-track recording by Steven Mead.
